I have been in Taiwan working for an international firm on High Speed Rail for the last 5 years on a visitors visa. usuall thing, visa runs every 60 or 30 days (firm pays for). visa letters state that financial and accomodation provided by the company and I always have a return ticket. have never been questioned at any visa office in manila, HK and bangkok, UK ever. I have never been questioned at immigration here in taipei with a passport thats filled with visas and stamps to the brim. sometime i come in on a normal 30day landing and not a word is said. when i apply for the visas i get a good one 90% of the time, multiple 60days.
I know i pay tax, every year the company gives me a blue tax certificate from the tax bureau. I even have a tax number. This compnay is a huge international firm.
Surlley the visa offices and immigration have me on record that i have been “working” here for five years, they are not stupid surley.
can anyone shed some light or anyone in the same situation. I gues that the company is providing all my financial needs and accomodation and that i am paying tax and am not a teacher they seem to ignore it?? or are my days numbered.
I have asked my firm about this and they dont seem to interested about getting ARC, I mean they pay for my visa runs and hotels. they have said that the immigration is no problem and told me not to worry, well after 5 years and not a word and going through immigration about to have cardiac arrest all the time, but the guys behind immigration just smile at me.
I was told that there are quite a few white collard workers and blue collard workers in the same boat??
Any Ideas?? :s
