Hi all. I’m writing a 10-15 page paper on Ang Lee’s Yin Shi Nan Nu (Eat Drink Man Woman) for my Honors Food & Film class. I want to discuss the Westernization of the characters and to do that first I need to know some of the “traditions”. I would like to know a few common traditional gestures such as those that mark concluding a meeting, greetings, etc. I’ve tried googling, etc. to find some more info with no success. I know that in the US we shake hands when an agreement is reached, and we tend to stand at arms length or more. I just want to know any common gestures used. I’d appreciate any help.
