Forchetta

Nice place.
Ok pizzas, but crust a bit on the thin side for my taste.
Good pasta choices.
Great selection of Belgian beer!!
Wide variety for vegetarians.
Great outdoor seating area. We spent the entire day on Saturday outside eating pizza and gulping Belgians. Of course, the restaurant was supposed to close at 230pm, but with our business, and a few others showing up, they stayed open all day and didn’t seem to mind.
Also, wine by glass or bottles fairly reasonable.

Hey, I love thin crust pizza and Belgian beer. Whereabouts is that address… I mean… is it on Anhe between Heping and Xinyi, or Xinyi and Renai, or Renai and Chungxiao…?

From Xin Yi it’s on the same side and about one or two alleys past Salsa Bistro’s alley. So going toward Renai, and it’s on the right, but nearer to Xin Yi.

Thanks a bunch!

Fred, do you think Forchetta could be a suitable candidate for one of our upcoming Forumosa get togethers? A nice evening outdoor beer and pizza meet might increase the happiness factor of the non-smokers among us. Just a thought.

Hmmm…Yeah. I like the outside bit, but the inside bit’s a bit stark. Course the pizza and belgians make all the difference.

Went to Bien tonight. COOL PLACE!! They have belgians too. And dribs and drabs of food, which i didn’t try. Either place ok. It’s always fun to find new places, don’t you agree? And, both places near to other places to head afterwards. Bien being in the range of DV8 (anyone still go there?), Fresh, 99, and those other dumps. Forchetta near Watersheds, Champagne, Naomi, and that tramp club. So…

Fredericka, went lasts night…excellent pizza and tapas-type stuff. Nice place and fairly busy which was nice in these troubled times. Only problem, and i’ve had this at loads of other places too, is that after ordering a round of beers we’d finished all the cold ones and had to change to a different beer for the next round. Might be best to let them know if you’re going to be drinking a certain beer when you arrive so that they can get some chilled (or better still, phone in advance).

I was in there last Saturday honkin’ on my horn (for the first time in a decade). Cathy’s as much of a sweetheart as ever. Fun evening.

My boy and I went there for lunch today. I had a very nice salad and we ordered two pizzas. The pizzas were not bad at all, but I told them they could do without sprinkling the Italian seasonings on after the pie was baked. I like thin crust, New York-style pizza, as does my boy. We both agreed that while the pizza was good, Cosi’s is better.

They only had three Belgian beers. Duvel, DT, and one of the fruit beers. I had a Duvel. And it was good.

bringing back a waaay old post…haven’t been here, heard good things? anyone know the price of it?? I heard it was “tasting menu” style food? doesnt seem this way from the reviews. Anyone been there recently?
