Shock, Vietnamese get richer and don’t want to come to Taiwan. What will binglang boy do now?
Well lets be nice now. IM kinda a binlan boy myself here in the wonderful country of CAlifornia. Im having to bring in an indonesian wife ya hear (couldnt attract, afford or upkeep an murkin gal…no interest either…all they want to do is divorce you and get back at you ) ?
I suppose TW binlan boys who cant get a gal in Taiwan or now Vietnam will have to go to Indonesia? Or perhaps the phillippines? Or perhaps Laos and Cambodia? Still pretty poor those places. Or at least still a lot of poor girls who will make the huge move for a chance at a better life?
I’m serious, this is a problem for binglang boy. Cambodians have problems coming to Taiwan and marrying, Indonesians are often Muslims and they are getting richer too, mainland women are not that eager to come either. Phillipinos, also getting richer and not easy or so willing to adapt to Taiwanese families expectations of subservience.
I’ve always felt Vietnamese have the most similarities with the native Taiwanese.
i suppose that binlan boy will then have to get himself an education and make himself more attractive to taiwanese girls then?
NOt sure that TW girls are actually subservient at all to their husbands parents anymore tho.
They can solve this problem by making it very easy for phil and indo girls working in Taiwan factories to marry taiwanese.
There are many young and attractive phil and indo girls working in Taiwan who could possibly be interested if they had an opportunity to marry a local lad?
They probably figured if they’re willing to marry a drunken asshole they might as well go to S. Korea

Yes there are a lot of Indo maids and also spouses in Taiwan now, especially in the South or in the countryside. I think that Indonesians are more religious, may be more of a challenge. Consumption of pork being a biggie.
yes thats true and pork being such a staple of taiwanese diet.
also most taiwanese are not truly religious.
all they have to do is release all those beautiful , young philippinas working in taiwans factories. Give them every weekend off. Give them liberty to live off dorm. Give them dating privileges. Give them freedom to date and marry taiwanese guys and you will solve the lack of bride issues for many binlan boy.
To be honest, some Filipino women marry Taiwanese men. However, I don’t thin that is high on the list of most Filipino women, I have met and seen.

The biggest problem I see with that Tommy, is that most Philippinas don’t try to learn Mandarin. Unless they are Chinese-Filipina, I don’t see many Filpinas marrying Taiwanese men.
How about they banned the sale and advertising of foreign brides in Taiwan? No more billboards, posters or businesses allowed to do that match-making work anymore.

You may be right there, but at least let them choose ? Dont lock them up in their dorms with a curfew, dont throw them out of the country if they marry a local. Dont make it hard for them to date if they want to.
Their human rights are being abused !
You may be right, most may not be interested. But some may be. And some may be interested in western guys teaching in Taiwan?
The girls are being locked up way too much with that dorm curfew.
They need weekends off and no curfew. NO punishment for dating.
Im surprised some human rights group doesnt come down hard on this.
Most Pinoy girls wouldn’t even look at a local. They are hated as racists.
Money would be the only factor for marriage or even dating.

Exactly, it will become a big problem. These guys are rejected by local Taiwanese women, and can’t find -cough, buy- one abroad, big problem brewing.
Vietnamese spouses (viet girl/ TW boy) may be going down but i bet western (TW girl/ western boy) spouses are going up?
Here is one just for you Okami. Going over to Chinshan (JinShan) yesterday there are billboards all the way to Tamsui reading “don’t be afraid to have kids”. I mean literally every 100 meters. I’ll search to find a pic.

Why in the world would a country ban something that was benefitial to themselves? How else will Taiwan maintain its population?

Well it is about buying and selling people (or on the very borderline) which is why it is being made illegal or is illegal already.
Steelerman is being sarcastic, but probably that is the excuse certain Taiwanese tell themselves. In the end, human trafficking and slavery is not benefitial to the country. The Taiwanese govt banned these ads -yes, they are illegal, but we know how bad that is here- more for face -gosh, our men are so pathetic they have to resort to this- and international pressure -human rights groups complained, a lot- but still even they recognized this business was not benefitial to anyone involved. For instance, children born of these unions are still at the lower percentile in schools, rejected by society and isolated like their mothers who cannot communicate. Certainly, what they have now, “matchmaking” is a pathetic excuse for the same business but basically it is a bit more controlled and self conscious now. It was even more callous and shameless before. Hopefully, there will be some more self awareness of how damaging this is to the person doing the buying. There is a great need for male evolution in Taiwan.
As one of my NCCU professors said: Taiwanese men suffer from the same problem as Taiwanese enterprises: they are not internationally competitive! So, they do not wnat to compete, and keep on scrapping the barrel based on cost alone…

That was for a cheap real estate development. Low down payment, so the salary slave can afford to buy a small flat in the outskirts of Danshui, and then get to marry his (Taiwanese) GF and get the one kid they can afford.
If was not an ad for Vietnamese breeding sows, it was an ad for a crappy birdcage next to they yellow sea.
