Foreigner Friendly Food Blog

Hi guys,

I blog on occasion, about places I like to eat at. I use English, but I also show the Chinese characters inc tone marks and pinyin.

I want to help people who can’t order in Chinese to access the foods that are truly interesting and delicious. Please, check out my blog, even +1! If you have anywhere you’d like me to review, then just comment on here!

Thanks, and Happy Eating!

I’ve just posted two more restaurants on the blog!

If you want to know a good breakfast place near CKS, or if you want to eat a fantastic alternative to the ever busy DinTaiFung, then head to check out the blog!

Look at the Irish guy, pretending he can read. :roflmao:

Maybe he’s just looking at the pictures

OP, nice reviews, but how about checking some places further afield? I get the feeling you don’t venture more than a few MRT stops from your house.

Thanks for the reply, Finley. I’ll take note of that. However, if you do look, I’ve posted about: YingGe, YongHe, XiHu, DanShui, TianMu, GuTing and a few others. They are quite well spread out around Taipei City. But now summer is here, I do plan on venturing further out into New Taipei City and around and about. Watch this space.

Despite being mostly vegetarian, I really enjoyed reading your reviews.

Great to hear. Do you have any recommendations for Vegetarian restaurants? I’d be more than happy to review

We went to eat Sushi yesterday, near XingTian Temple. Check it out, it was pretty good!

Thanks, jimipresley! I appreciate the feedback. As a fairly new blogger, its important for me to try and spread the word wherever possible. So, please, tell your friends! If you have anywhere you’d like me to visit, please do let me know. Thanks, Ash (male) :sunglasses:

The next step is to make some sort of directory and even better a map so people don’t have to scroll through pages and pages. Cool site even if I live in Kaohsiung but I might use it when I head to Taipei for a weekend.

I think you should go to some sh*tty restaurants and give some more critical reviews (the more scathing the better). Every place you’ve done so far was fantastic/amazing/awesome etc. You’ll run out of superlatives if you carry on like this.

Thanks for taking time to look over the reviews. Whilst I understand where you’re coming from, forgive me for not wanting to rush out to eat “sh*tty restaurants” just in an attempt to become more critical. The reason behind creating the blog is to help foreigners discover the good food that Taiwan has to offer, not such restaurants as I feel you refer to. We know what a bad restaurant looks like, but I’m helping to outline what the good Taiwanese places look like.

Nevertheless, recommend a place for me to go to, and I’ll mull it over. Thanks, again.
