Former Undersecretary of Defense says: Lease F-35s to Taiwan, leave them offshore

Not entirely unreasonable

I really don’t think there is any military solution to China’s propensity to throw its toys out of the pram at regular intervals. Putting F35s on Taiwanese soil would not help. It’s time for the strategists to look at how China, itself, behaves when it wants to get its own way, and indulge in a bit of mirroring.

There also needs to be some coordinated diplomatic action to convince the Chinese that their current policies are not achieving what they believe they’re achieving. The CCP leadership are so far up their own colons it’ll need a lot of people shouting at them to get them to hear.

And because any U.S. defense secrets will immediately be sold by Chinese/KMT-sympathizing generals.

After his Pentagon service, Dr. Bryen was president of Finmeccanica North America (now Leonardo)

Yeah, my wife is a hairdresser and thinks your hairdo is messy and it’s time you got a new one. I think you should send your kids to study English. These opinions are totally unbiased and have nothing to do with the fact that following them means putting money in our pockets.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh

Having a gun in the other room is not of much use if the intruder is in my room with a gun

The gun better be in your hand and pointed at him, actually.

Yes and it would be impractical to ask the intruder for a time out while I go get my gun or ask if I can borrow his I would imagine .

This is unfortunately true.

Taiwan needs to seriously up the penalty and get serious about cracking down for this kind of stuff.

Commies got all the plans probably from their spies in the US already

Well they could base them in Guam and have all the Taiwanese pilots train there like they did with some of the Taiwanese f16 in the US mainland

Taiwan asked for F-35 years ago and said they would leave them in USA for training until USA agreed time to deliver to Taiwan.

This isn’t some new idea.
