How come sometimes on the forum index, you can see what the last topic posted to was, and sometimes you cannot?
maybe you are looking at different forum index pages
There are actually “several” forum index pages of this website. The others are backups or “editions” of Forumosa that were public while I modified files for the “Ready for Primetime” edition
Do you remember when these forumosa pages were stored in a webaddress that ends with a number? That number was usually /3
Some time ago, Cranky Laowai suggested I change that to /taiwan so that Google and other popular search engines would rank the website higher in their listings. (Cranky knows what he is talking about most of the time, so I usually go with his recommendations, even when I know little about them myself 
)
Version /3 is an “earlier” version, and does not incorporate later modifications.
You might stumble into this version accidentally if you use the links in the Site Map below.
I haven’t bothered to smooth out all the kinks because we made the decision to relocate the entire website to Taiwan. We will be rebuilding the entire website (internal links and all), so fixing the Site Map dropped in position on my To Do list of priorities
Ahh, I see now. I had the “3” page bookmarked, but as I navigate, I ultimately navigate to one of the newer ones. I changed my bookmark.
