Have you ever stopped to think of the huge damage that has been inflicted upon our planet?

Polar ice caps breaking up, retreating glaciers, rapid extinction of numerous species, more and more extreme weather events ranging from droughts to flooding. We thought these would be problems for a future generation.

In “An Inconvenient Truth”, former US Vice-President Al Gore produces detailed photographic and statistical evidence, presented in a easily digestible form, which point to the seriousness of global warning, a stark reality which is finally starting to hit home.

We have invited the head of the Wilderness Conservation Society in Taiwan to share with us his years of experience engaging in environmental conservation work, in order to speak to us about what we can do to address the issue of global warming.

We have also invited Professor Lu, distinguished Environmental Affairs journalist from the China Times, to take a closer look at the issues raised by An Inconvenient Truth, from the front line to behind the scenes.

Arrrg…I wish I could go to this, but I’m working both nights. :frowning:

Thanks to The NTNU Student Union :bravo: for organizing the showing of this movie. It was even better than I expected. It is well worth going to tonight even if you are only slightly interested. Even in this rain (last night I was soaked but it was worth it). Thanks very much!

Dang! I’d have liked to have gone last night. Li’s a good bloke who knows his onions. Unfortunately, “Professor Lu, distinguished Environmental Affairs journalist from the China Times,” is a complete tool.
