Freight Forwarding - a new service available

Whilst this will hold little interest for the majority of forumosan posters, some do work for companies that either import or export or maybe even both.

for those that have a need, a new Freight forwaridng company has been esablished here in Taipei, although we are able to cover shipments from all three main ports of Keelung, TaiChung and KaoHsung.

This is a business aimed at commerical enterprises, it is not aimed at people relocating and needing their personal effects being sent on.

Indeed we are already helping at least one forumosan intheir exports, hopefully to hisd satisfaction, he might just post here and confirm that, and would happily engage with others should they need our services.

Whilst we are currently focusing on the US sector we are gradually getting involved in all sectors and welcome enquires for all countries in regard to exports.

If you require more details, then please contact us on the telephone number in the signature, or send a pm to me.

Not one afraid to ask the stupid question, Traveller, would you explain exactly what Freight Forwarding service is? And, do your customers have to be in Taiwan or US or can they be anywhere in the Asia Pac region?

TIA.

YC, not known you to ever ask a silly question. Freight Forwarding in laymans terms is the art of getting cargo from point A to point B, whilst clearing ALL documentary and legal hurdles in between such as customs clearance etc.

Cargo can be moved from any point to any other point, though normally the person sending the cargo, does business in the country of export, and the buyer does business in the country of import, but these days with Banks Guarantees, Letters of Credit etc, then even this is less of a requirement, we regularly ship cargo from China to the US, with neither exporter or importer operating in Taiwan, makes paperwork a little more complex but that is all.

As touched on earlier there is no limit to point of operation, if we get either a shipper or importer in a country where we do not have an existing agency agreement set up, then we set one up, and if enough notice is given, we do that quite stringently.

We aim to provide a value for money service, not to be the cheapest in Taiwan, to many have gone that way and do not exist today.
