Placebo is headlining, I can imagine that would create a bit of buzz, but the support act: Frente! ???
WTF?
I’m not sure how well known they were outside Australia in their time, but Frente! were like a heck i don’t know to describe go and watch the film clips for their hits:
Does this ring any bells for anyone else? Like alarm bells that are really alarming? I have a conspiracy theory that after their success in Australia Frente! all moved to the 'wan and taught english…
Either that or they tried to book new order and their booking agent said sorry not available so how about a cover band??
They are really popular here for some reason. I often hear Bizarre Love Triangle on the radio, and I think Angie has done a few solo gigs here. It amazed me when I first arrived in TW.

Frente were quite popular in alternative circles here about 10 years ago i.e. a local record label picked up on them and promoted them heavily…I think they even played here a couple times but can’t merember.
hang on a sec…Tricky and Gang of Four are also playing…this is kinda a big deal…why did I not get the memo?

Bizzard Love Triangle, the Frente version, is well known here I think.

I would be interested to know the sequence of events that lead to a broken up cover band from the ealr 90s getting back together to tour a small green asian island somewhere in north pacific 20 years on… there has to be more to it.
that said its germany that keeps david hasselhoff’s singing dream alive, when his daughter’s not reviving him from alcohol poisoning.
On another note Utah Saint reformed and toured the UK 1 or 2 years ago apparently. I know a bunch of people that went and saw them in Brixton and there was a riot afterwards when they didn’t play “something good” - it was just a platform for them to launch new materials. Could this be a similiar tactic from frente! ???
I still reckon its a conspiracy. Maybe buttercup is angie hart.
I remember them from primary school - I think we did dance routines and would watch Accidentally Kelly St on Video Hits. A few years ago they reformed I think and started making some new music. It’s quite different from their old stuff.
It’s a bit of a shambles. I heard from one of the promoters last Wednesday that Gang of Four were definitely playing but that The Raveonettes weren’t. They also said (perhaps not word-for-word) “the Music Terminals website is shit, don’t trust it”. But on the Gang of Four websites there’s no mention of any tour of Taiwan/Asia.
The official website, the posters and flyers all say different things. It should still be a good weekend though.
