Fresh Greens: New Salad Restaurant in Neihu

Are you looking for some healthy and fresh food but sick of eating subway or paying $300+ for a salad at Chili’s or Fridays? I’d like to introduce a new restaurant that a few friends and I have opened in Neihu, Taipei.

We specialize in

  • Fresh, healthy, delicious salads (You can also create your own salad if you want)
  • Freshly squeezed orange juice / Imported Guatemalan coffee / Fruit, Jasmine, hot and cold teas
  • Hot off the grill Paninis
  • Health conscious pastas made with quality ingredients
  • Delicious oven baked brownies and apple pies

Come check us out! We are in the Neihu technology park and about a five minute walk from the XIHU MRT STATION. I think you will find our prices very reasonable for the quality of our ingredients. We also offer a different 99NT daily special salad every day of the week. Our hours are Mon-Fri 8am-9pm.

Welcome greens.

The sandwiches in the photos look pretty good. I didn’t see the menu/prices for the pasta items. Do you have a complete scanned menu online somewhere?

Thanks for the welcome elek. We are still in the process of updating our menu. As of now, we offer a pesto chicken pasta or a creamy chicken pasta at $170nt. A garden tomato chicken pasta is in the works. Our specialties however, are still our salads. We will unveil our new menu later this month and I will upload it here once that happens.

What’s in your salads, and where are you sourcing your greens? Local or imported?

Wow. Some of that stuff looks incredible! When next I’m in Neihu, I’ll definitely be in! Good luck, greens!

I like what you are trying to do, just a bit worried about costs. I wish you the best of luck.

I’ve tried the place, and the food is very tasty and reasonably priced.

Mucha: Is there a specific salad that you wanted more information on? We have over 20 different veggies/fruits that we use in our salads and we only use the freshest ingredients.

Jimi: Thanks for the love we look forward to your future visit

Deuce: We are doing our best to offer healthy/fresh food for a reasonable price. Obviously we are still trying to find the balance, thanks for the kind words.

BigJohn: Thanks again! If there is anything we can improve on please let us now.

Perhaps my initial comment was a bit murky (no, not you Deuce!), what I meant was YOUR costs. I don’t mind paying an extra bit for quality, but I am not sure the general population feels the same. Veggies can get real pricey here, especially after a typhoon.

Wow, I work just around the corner. I’ll be in for a visit soon!

Where can I find info about all your salads? A quick look at the facebook page didn’t reveal any?

I am sure you use fresh ingredients  , but my question was which fresh ingredients (let’s say in a regular green salad) and are they local or imported, and organic or regular? If I am going to pay for a salad (and I am happy to if it is good) I want organic greens that do NOT include iceberg lettuce or imported Tasmanian romaine.

Immediately thought of the California chain Souplantation…doesn’t look quite the same, but excited to try nonetheless!

Very exciting! Best of luck!

Ate there tonight. It was good. Wife was pleased. We’ll go back.
(btw, nice pie; great juice.)

Clearly, a few things are still being ironed out, but there’s lots of potential. I’ll have to go back a few times, and over time, to give the place a decent shot, but first impression is that if eating alone – and during non-peak hours – I’d prefer Fridays. But it’s certainly possible that you’ll change my mind about that.

Hope you guys make it. Glad to have a new, decent choice in the neighbourhood.

Well, now that you mention it: the salads come with a slice of French style bread, but each time I’ve had it (3 times) the bread has tasted a bit stale, as if it was cut a few hours ago. Other than that, it’s all good.

Yes, the slice was more cracker than bread. Boo to that bit.

Mucha, our salads consists mainly of local ingredients, we use that to support the local farmers and at the same time to be environmental friendly. As for organic foods, we’ve considered it and it would be ideal but the supplies for organic produce is limited all year long. We’ve contacted many organic farms (over 50) but they could not supply a consistent quantity. We use imported American romaine lettuce as one of our bases while our iceberg is mainly used for our Mexican Taco salads. If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to contact us. We will unveil our new menu soon and it will have an English version. Thank again!

This issue has come to our attention and we are now looking at different options of breads we hope to implement a new bread asap. If you have any more issues or comments please feel free to contact us or leave us a message. Thank you again for your valuable insight.

Anyone know if this place does takeaway? I’m thinking of grabbing some lunch there today, but Friday lunchtime is the most difficult time of the week to try and get a seat anywhere around here.

Edit: To answer my own question. Yes, they do takeaway, though only for certain menu items.

I visited Fresh Greens for the first time on Friday evening and enjoyed a large salad with blue cheese, apple pie and Earl Grey tea, which came to NT$270, I think. I couldn’t afford that every day but from time to time is OK. I will be returning with friends before long.

Would you consider selling wine and/or beer? I’d fancy a glass of wine with the blue cheese salad.

You poor, underpaid bastard!
