Translation of Apple Daily’s public reactions
From PTT:
Loverxa: What’s wrong with a guy wanting a sturdy table to read a book on?
Inshadow: She’s good! He looks like he’s enjoying it.
ClariS344: Why all the fuss over a woman picking her teeth on the metro?
羅謀先: Beep beep No eating or drinking on the metro!
GauYi: I’m jealous! That’s true love!
Other Internet users chimed in:
“Should we start a fund-raiser so they can get a room?”
“No eating bananas on the MRT!”
“You must have been shocked to have this as your going-away present on the day you left Taiwan! I want to offer apologies 120,000 times over. But it certainly must have been exciting! XD”
And from real-life people:
Ms. Tsai (22) in Taipei: These two are pretty brave, but I think it’s still shocking. I can’t believe people would actually do this (Apple Daily adds, in parenthesis: “oral sex”) on the MRT.
Mr. Lin Yin-chung (26) in Taichung: That’s crazy. What if there were children watching? No matter how much you want it, you have to pay attention to your surroundings. If I ever saw something like this, I’d just pretend it wasn’t happening.
Mr. Wu Ping-hung (17) in Kaohsiung: I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s ridiculous and childish. Did they want to let the whole world know what they were doing or something?
Apple also interviewed Soie So, the HKer who uploaded the video to Facebook:
“It was all out in the open, and I think almost everyone noticed. It’s unbelievable and totally surprising. The guy was pretending he was reading the whole time like nothing was going on.”
“They were doing it from when I got on the train until three stops before I got off. That’s when the girl suddenly sat up, and the boy half-heartedly patted her on the shoulder and casually said a few words before she got off the train. The boy got off at the next stop. He had a teddy bear with him that I thought he was going to give to the girl. But he didn’t.”
PS, worth noting that Apple reports: Lin Kang-hui, a lawyer said that media could face fines for reporting on this without including necessary mosaics over sensitive parts/things/actions or for reporting on overly sexual material. Think that includes Apple’s own report where they interview a 17-year-old on what he thinks about people having oral sex on the MRT??? :no-no:
