Fubon costco credit card

If they allowed foreigners to apply online, a computer may impartially issue the card assuming a foreigner is creditworthy. By forcing a paper application, banks can intentionally introduce a foreigner bias and get rid of those apps

To add insult to injury, Fubon was the only bank that “requested” me to go to their office and give them a copy of my new APRC. The rest of the banks just sent a message saying to the credit office informed them of the change, all izz well.

Sorry for necro thread, just got back from Costco after signing up for the card.

Location: 中和

Is a: International student, has Costco membership, is Chinese descent

  • Went to the counter
  • Asked if an international student can make the credit card
  • Asked for ARC, address confirmation (just pointing out on ARC), passbook (I got mine but I forgot to print it so the clerk asked me to screenshot things instead), passport (I didn’t bring mine so I used a picture of it instead and they accepted it), and Costco membership
  • Get phone number
  • Check to main Costco clerk to see if my membership is still valid
  • Fill in name on the 3 ‘yellow boxes’
  • They photocopy everything and off I go.

Now I just need to wait for the text.

Tip: The credit card hotline written on the back of your Costco card doesn’t offer an English service.

If you need English service, call the main Fubon bank service line instead:
Mobile: 02-8751-6665
Landline: 0800-007-889

Edit: The English speaking-operator actually stayed on the line while I went through their automated online system for changing my CC PIN code, and she translated each step. It was incredibly helpful.

I applied and received it within a couple weeks, admittedly it was an updated version as I already held the other version. I did the application at my Costco branch in Kaohsiung they were literally falling over themselves to get people to sign up at the time. One caveat, it’s more like a charge card and I have to settle the transaction at the end of each month in full so no real benefits to be enjoyed. It’s a Mastercard titanium version
