Full blood test - where, what to ask for, price, etc

Before I start my new diet and exercise routine later this month when I’m back in Taiwan, I’d like to first do a blood test to assess things such as cholesterol, blood glucose, etc… Hopefully I can do this at a hospital local to me (such as Fu Jen Hospital or Taipei Hospital in Xinzhuang).

I’d like to know:

  • what I should ask for
  • whether I can do this at any hospital
  • whether I can use my NHI
  • roughly how much it’ll cost
  • roughly how long I’ll wait for the results

And if anyone with more medical knowledge knows what other medical indicators I should look for and keep track of in my spreadsheet, I’d love to know.

Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge it won’t be covered by NHI if there’s nothing wrong with you to be tested for and it’s just for you.

I just went to a clinic and they can do it and send it to the hospital to get tested if you don’t want to go to a hospital.

They give you a list of what you want to test for come knowing what you’d like and the prices for each test. I remember each test was around 1-300nt depending on what you’re testing for.

I got my results in 2 days.

Thanks. Should I just request a 血測試?

Say that you want to 驗血.
