That’s because they had literal bomb threats against their stores. A bit different than concern over a drop in sales. Anyway… off topic. But I don’t find Target selling niche items analogous to the Bud Light situation.
The similarity is they both decided to promote transsexual lifestyles and swiftly realised their customers aren’t ready for that. Waaaay not ready for that. Drinking pissy beer and wearing clothes made by children are not to be used by those with gender dysphoria, apparently.
It was similar in that the underlying cause was the same. Obviously I don’t condone bomb threats, but that outcome was entirely predictable - if you set out to troll people, you’re inevitably going to catch in your dragnet one or two people who are certifiably unhinged. The Bud Light clowns got off lightly.
“Members of Congress and other federal jobholders can choose from among dozens of alternative health plans each year, irrespective of their families’ health condition. And when federal workers move to different jobs within the federal sector, they are able to keep the coverage of their chosen plan without any interruption of benefits. They can even keep their chosen plan when they retire. Few other Americans enjoy such health care security.
Congressmen, like other federal workers, understandably like their system. So much so, that buried in many of the leading bills to restructure the United States’ health care system, there are. provisions that quietly would exempt members of Congress, their staffs, and their dependents from each bill’s effect.”
That’s a lot worse than junior doctors’ pay in Taiwan. Residents make like 80-130k depending on the discipline (though they do work longer hours). And the cost of living is like night and day.
Yeah, the gov’t doesn’t even pretend its any better. Those are official rates. My niece left as an F1 and is earning more in a desk job with less BS to deal with and 0 risk of being sued by Karens.
This deserves an update for clarity, first they pulled the items and then they got bomb threats, from someone supportive of the LGBT community and critical of Target for pulling the merchandise.
