On documentary channels, whenever there’s a car in view, the numberplate is digitally “fuzzed” so you can’t read it. Why? I can understand if it’s a famous person’s car, but they do this to all cars, even ones just in the background.
Privacy issues, I guess. I assume it’s for the same reason that telepone numbers in American movies almost always start with 555. You post a ereal number and some wacko will call that number.
You post a real license plate number and some wacko will look up that number, or maybe the person’s boss, spouse or other important person in his/her life will recognize it.
