Where do all the gay, bi or whatever foreigners hang out in taichung?
Try Ai Qiao on Cheng-gong Road next to the temple. It’s, um, cute.
There’s another place near the train station called Manhattan that’s supposedly popular, but I’ve never been.
Oh! Now that the water shortage is over, don’t forget the “spas”… (giggle) I was told there are two in Taichung that are popular, but I don’t remember their names. I could find out for you if you want.
As far as I know, Utopia still has the most complete gay listings in English on the web. I haven’t checked in a while though, so I don’t know how up to date it is.
Was at one of those “spa/motels” in Taichung a couple years ago. It is a chain estabishment so to speak. Oh man was that bad!! Almost scared me…and I even had my Taiwanese half with me. Gads, we still shudder and laugh when we talk about it. It was called Ascott or Ascwol or something like that. Definately a must miss unless you are into really dirty/sleezy conditions.
A club near the train station - Mint 27 will be re-opening with gay partys - one in the week & weekend. Flyers will be around Taichung soon.
