I read an interesting article in New Scientist this week. It seems they’re showing promising results with a new HIV treatment. I wonder if in the near future we’ll look back and be astonished that people actually used to die from HIV.
That’s very interesting, but it will be WAY too expensive for most HIV paitients. At least, it will in the States.
It’s not so relatively expensive if it offers a cure and prevents complications. But yes it will be very expensive up front. I read about this before, I’m not sure if it can help all patients or just a subset. If the treatment can be used successfully for HIV it can be adapted to other diseases such as cancer treatment.
