Has anyone had any experiences getting a visa from the Chinese embassy in Hanoi in 2009? My wife and I are going to do July and August in SW China. Hanoi is right there and waiting for a visa there is much more appealing to us than waiting in Hong Kong.
Any thoughts?
I was there a few weeks ago and popped in to try and get a China visa and they will not give you one unless you have Vietnam residency. So it appears I have to fly to HK just to get a China visa (I do not have an ARC). Splendid.
