I am looking for this: Gillette Antiperspirant & Deodorant ClearGel (Cool Wave).
I have looked all over Taiwan with no luck. I have found local brands that are sticks (the pasty white kind) and sprays, which I hate…but have not found the above one I am looking for. Costco did have gilette sticks, but I am looking for the gel.
Anyone know where you can buy this here?
Any Watson’s or Wellcome. I’ve never had a problem finding Gilette gel deodorant, though they are a bit expensive.
You are joking right? I have looked at 5 different Watsons and 3 different Wellcomes and all of them did not have it. Are you in Taipei?
No, I’m in the absolute sticks. Were you looking in the right section? I think it’s with all the Gilette shaving stuff and not in some deodorant section.
Costco has the gel sticks, or at least did the last time I went there.
My local supermarket seems to have stopped stocking deodorant full stop, is this a winter thing? Off to Watsons shortly…and for the record am not completely out.
Costco, I think. Don’t buy too many at a time though, if you don’t have AC in the summer – they don’t hold up well in extreme heat. Or you can toss the extras in the back of your fridge, sealed in a gallon ziplock bag so they don’t dehydrate either.
EDIT - Those are gel-like solid sticks, and don’t have the little holes in the applicator as later described.
If you are Muzha (I assume that since it says that in your name), the Watson’s right up the road from the Wanfang hospital (same side) has it. All the Gillette stuff is together in the shaving section on the second floor. I also got some at the Carefor clost to here. Gillette seems to keep all their crap together in special little sections at stores, so it’s not always with the deodorant.
Well, that’s no fucking good! Think about it man! You check the store in, say Fenglin. Nope. None there. Off you toddle up to Suao. Nope. None there either.
MUY ESTUPIDO! How do you know they didn’t stock up 5 minutes after you left Fenglin? Jesus, man, the shelves could have been FULL again before you’d even hit Hualien! Then again, the last stick could heve been sold in Suao while you were still slack-jawed over cliffs on the Hualien-Suao highway.
You need to have people posted in every town, city, village – anywhere with a Mom & Pop store – providing you with constant updates. Only THEN will you be able to say with any authority that these oxter-prettifiers really don’t exist.
Ahem. I think what the original poster is looking for is the Gilette that gets squeezed out of the little holes at the top. Not the gel solid, which is available at Watson’s. The gel one that gets pushed through the little holes at the top can’t be had in Taiwan.

Thank you Bushibanned for your comments. You see, there is a world of a difference between the gel type and the gel solid stick (which, in my observance is not a gel at all). As Busibanned so eloquently stated, the gel form that I am questing for is the type that “is squeezed out the little holes at the top”. The dryer more commonly available solid leaves me with an annoying irritable burning rash that itches like the dickens.
Mr. Sandman, You have an ingenious idea of stationing lookouts all over the Island. There is no doubt in my mind that would be very useful for many different kinds of endeavors one might find himself on; However, I lack the resources and manpower necessary to assemble such a large team for this ever so important quest. That, my dear fellow, is exactly why I turned to the numerous folks on Forumosa. Specifically speaking, those frequenting the “Where can I find” forum. With their combined knowledge and my knowledge joined together, I feel much more comfortable knowing that indeed perhaps we have covered the expanse of this island from nook to cranny.
I concur that indeed I was a bit overstating when I said I had looked all over Taiwan. What I should have said was something more precise as: “My extensive search in various cities across Taiwan, namely Taipei, Banciou, Danshui, and Kaohsiung, has left me empty handed and exhausted. I have yet to locate the Gel that I need.”
Drugstore dot com does indeed deliver, but egads man! Have you seen the outrageous shipping costs? I would have to a major receipt lottery winner to come up with that kind of money

Sorry, I forgot about the gel ones that come up out of the holes. I haven’t seen that stuff in a long time, but I use a totally different brand. I had to switch to Gilette when I ran out over here. The Carefor I have been to a few times here had a pretty big Gilette display with a lot of their products on it, and I’m sure there were a few different deodorants, but I don’t recall the squishy-gel ones.
I understand your need for a specific kind. I’m the same way, and I just recieved a care-package from home with certain supplies I can’t get here, inclusing a specific deodorant I’ve been using for a while now. I hope you can find the one you are looking for. Is there anyone who can send you some from back home? I sent digital pics home of exactly what I needed and sent them to Shoppers Drug Mart with the pics to make sure.
Of course, if it’s an emergency, it could be a ‘ripe’ couple of weeks while you wait for the package to arrive. Good luck…
