I’m 0.9% away from breaking even on my CCL investment since the depths of covid.
It’s been a longggggggg wait.
MOre miners in the news, copper this time:
Why Freeport-McMoRan is the ‘exception’ for this portfolio manager
I’m actually back int he green for FCX-- took a while.
I’d love to see the green revolution take off, and the home building in the US to fire up.
My CCL share is up 80%. Sold the rest way too early. Always like to keep one share for nostalgic reasons and seeing right in my portfolio whether a stock goes up or not.
My sole FCX share is about even.
Today we might see NVDA rebound? Up a bit pre-market.
Keep in mind today is Thanksgiving holiday in USA.
That was yesterday.
Trading will be limited and many are on longer holidays.
Both the stock and bond market will close on Thursday for Thanksgiving. Trading will resume on Black Friday, but wrap up early, with the stock market closing at 1 p.m. and the bond market at 2 p.m.
Can be small volumes today, thus high volatility possible
What is your target sell price?
Not sure, l probably sell at 10% profit.
We are only a few percent away from that. I think it’ll go higher than that. Altcoin season hasn’t even started yet, but I guess it depends how much you have invested. I’ve bought some Mara after discovering they are playing the microstrategy “holding Bitcoin” game.
Maybe in next few days, half way there
More on UUUU
Interesting that I’m seeing more and more articles sourced from Reddit WSB posts.
Institutional ownership of Palantir stock soars
And my little SIDU is climbing the ladder. up to 1.61 now. Next resistance I believe is at 1.89. Next ER should be telling-- and another launch coming up.
Also, in my Roth, I sold DE for a quick 15%, and BBDC for about the same.
I have a SIDU buy order in let’s see where the rocketship takes us from below sea level( it’s the chert that for me excited).
TSMC is coming back as I said it would. 92% of high end chips worldwide are made by them what more can one say.
Quuantum computing next technological wave. It’s not quite there but next year or two we could see stuff popping up
Pure play Stocks…IonQ ,QBTS, RGTI. Load up a few thousand or so and forget it about it for two years.
Less pure, IBM could still be good.
I friend of mine who reports on Photonics stuff sent me this:
The Role of Photonics in Quantum Computing - Programming Insider
Still looking for pure plays here. Asked ChatGPT for a hand. Crap.
to invest in photonics companies, especially those working on quantum computing, here are a few notable options:
- PsiQuantum (Private): PsiQuantum is advancing large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computing with a focus on photonics. It leverages existing semiconductor manufacturing processes to develop photonic chips and is partnered with GlobalFoundries to scale its technology. The company also integrates quantum computing with advanced cryogenic technologies
.
2. Photonics Inc. (Private): Based in Vancouver, Photonics Inc. specializes in silicon-based quantum computing and networking platforms. They have significant investments from partners like Microsoft and focus on scalable, fault-tolerant quantum systems
.
3. M Squared Lasers (Private): This UK-based company develops photonics-based quantum systems, including sensors and accelerometers. It has a strong track record in quantum technology and photonics
.
4. Nu Quantum (Private): A spinout from the University of Cambridge, Nu Quantum focuses on end-to-end quantum cryptography systems using photonic technologies. They are particularly involved in securing communications with optical links
.
5. LIGENTEC (Private): Based in Switzerland, LIGENTEC develops integrated photonics circuits used in quantum computing and communication
Unfortunately, none of these companies are publicly traded yet
Companies like GlobalFoundries, involved in manufacturing for PsiQuantum, or Microsoft, partnering with Photonics Inc., may offer indirect exposure.
Huh. Global foundries was like ten minutes from my house in Albany. I used to scuba dive with one of the top engineers who designed the place.
MP is way up today in PM.
16%-- apparently China is madz.
HONG KONG — China said on Tuesday it would begin banning the export of some rare minerals to the United States, in an escalation of the tech war between the world’s two biggest powers. The move comes a day after the Biden administration tightened Chinese access to advanced American technology.
Sales of gallium, germanium, antimony and other materials to the United States would be halted immediately on national security grounds, China’s Ministry of Commerce said, citing the minerals’ use for military purposes. The export of graphite would also be subject to stricter review.
Interesting that USA have not imported any of these from China during 2024
YOu got a link for that statement?
I’m seeing this:
China said in July 2023 it would require exporters to apply for licenses to send to the U.S. the strategically important materials such as gallium and germanium. In August, the Chinese Commerce Ministry said it would restrict exports of antimony, which is used in a wide range of products from batteries to weapons, and impose tighter controls on exports of graphite.
The US gets 1/2 of this stuff from China. Did they fill the gap with imports from other places?
