Having finally read the thing, I’d agree that it appears to be wrong. Probably because its written by stupid English people.
n fact, he wasn’t cautioned by the police but by the procurator fiscal (prosecutor), and the part where it says “leaving him with a criminal record” is a typo. It should be “no” instead of “a.”
He’s still totally in the wrong though. Imagine a Celtic player feeling the need for divine intervention against Rangers!
The first one is from the local Scotish site, presumable written by Scottish people, the second is from the sports site, by people who think football is interesting.
If it happened in England, I think it’s done by a high ranking polce officer, I saw it on The Bill, or was it Only Fools and Horses ?
In any event, who wouldn’t rather get cautioned than go to court.
