Glycerine?

I’m making my own dog shampoo: dish soap and glycerine does the trick nicely (dish soap must have a pH around 7; otherwise, add a few teaspoons of white vinegar).

But where can I buy glycerine?

Cheers!

I got some from my local pharmacy

The Tianshui street chemical supply shops are very likely to carry it, too.

Thanks, both. I went to a pharmacy near me, but maybe it was too small. I’ll try a bigger one. Cheers!

Often found in the enema section.

stray dog,

Did you look for the label in Chinese? 甘油 (Gan(1)You(3)). It really should be easy to find.

Ha! That’s what i need - thank you. I can remember those characters, too.

The last pharmacist did try to sell me an enema.

Do you know what it does? I had to bath Xiao Bai before his flight, so had to just use the dish soap without the glycerine, a I knew the pH was already correct. Have to say, he feels and smells great! Just wondering what the glycerine does then.

Yes. You want a description? Its a bit graphic.

Thanks for PMing me that video, sandman. I just hope you washed your hands after that!

Hey, if you also get some concentrated nitric acid and some sulfuric acid with that glycerine, then you can make things go bang.

I won’t PM you the instructional video.

I think glycerine will act as a softener, and make the dog’s/your skin and hair shiny. I know it leaves an oily layer on fleece materials, and that lots of laundry detergents use it as an ingredient. We use it here to make bubble mix for kids to blow bubbles, and for art projects.

Got some! Had to go to a traditional pharmacist, but it was right there next to the hydrogen peroxide and providone iodine.

Thanks, all.

But you wouldn’t believe how many enemas I was offered on my search. :no-no:
