This new thread isn’t quite as interesting as the last one…seems kinda lonely in here.
I’ve heard that the new track has a hill in it, and if you race the pro-karts, you can actually get some air.
Also, the surface is rather slippery at the moment, as they have sprayed something on it to help the endurance of it. Apparently it will take a few months to get right.
It should be quite fun for karts. Bikers may not want to try out their machines on it yet.

You summed it up pretty well. I had a great day there.
The good news is that the new course rocks! It’s longer but due to the higher speeds the lap times are almost the same (takes 2 seconds longer to do a lap). The track is a little slippy, but it just makes it more fun…I went 4 times.
The bad news is that it’s hellishly difficult to find. It’s off of an even smaller road than the old place…and it’s further south by about 15min.
The good news (uhh…) is that it’s a really nice ride, especially where you cut past Ming-De resevoir to get to the track.
I might be going tomorrow…since I left my backpack there with my 3,000nt rain gear… :help: .
You guys all know this is how Rossi made his start in racing.
My first time…on the new track…I came in first with a best lap 1.15 seconds faster than the guy in second: livevideo.com/video/Mordeth1 … aiwan.aspx

One of the reasons why I haven’t made this a weekly trek is that I keep forgetting how to get there and then think about the effort involved in looking up the address, finding it on my map and then spending 3 1/2 hours on a 2-stroke or blowing NT$1500 on gas and tickets in the car and just think, fuck it, I’m going to stay at home and have sex all day.
So despite the fun racing and decent people who occasionally show up, the idea of somewhere even more out of the way has become pretty unattractive.
PS: this is why the owner is stupid for not offering discounted block tickets - I would have happily bought 10 or 20 sessions while the enthusiasm was still there and then felt obliged to keep going cause I’d already prepaid.

I’m a bit worried about the remoteness as well. I hope the owner made the right decision. After a big move like that it would suck if his buisness halved or something.
It doesn’t bother me much…because a nice long bike ride is half the fun. And the fact that the track is about 15-20 min further SOUTH is a plus for you.
llary > once I’m back on 2 wheels and so on, I’ll be more than happy to accompany you for the trek… I can find my way to the old track without any hassles really, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find the new one…
Google earth picture of the new track’s location anyone?
Here’s another vid of the track…it’s the whole race sped up…so you get a better feel for the track lines: livevideo.com/video/Mordeth1 … -race.aspx
Cool beans ![]()
I might have a yeller plater by the time you get back on your feet… I fucked the RZR’s gearbox and while it’s been in for repairs I’ve been thinking I need a more serious bike. Probably the Ninja :happybiker:
hey guys, could y’all give up the address so that more ppl can visit this new track? pretty please? :help:
Actually looking at a map…it looks like it’s really easy to get there…hmmm.

Hey Mordeth ~ Your pic is in this month’s ‘Cool Biker’… red t-shirt, #9 car
(yes, I saw your vids, but can’t see t-shirt colour in them)… luckily for you, you can still keep your anonymity… no face shot~ page 189, article about the new track…
Anybody with transport go from Taipei wanna share gas/highway fees etc?
I was in Hsinchu today looking for the go-cart track that I went to last year. Could not find it. It was somewhere overlooking a highway, but take some country road driving to get there. Great view once there.
I’ve read through 15 of 30+ pages, and can not decipher the basics are go-cart tracks in Taiwan.
Can someone/everyeone summarize the basics of go-cart tracks? Something like name, basic location, maybe some simple directions, google coordinates, etc.?
This would be a GREAT help…
Thanks
This thread seams dead.
Nobody like gocarting anymore?
Is there any tracks in/outside Taipei?
I know there is(used to be)one in a basement at shilin night market.
Broke 2 ribs 3 weeks ago driving 125cc rotomax engines. So yes it is dead. Ha ha ha
