Doesn’t make sense that he would just run out into the road. Most foreigners have enough common sense not to do that in Taiwan especially.
Since the driver knows there is no video evidence, even if he is at fault it makes sense that he would deny deny deny.

Hmm, and here I thought every square meter of this island was covered by CCTV.
It is when the cops are trying to follow foreigners who stole a lot of money from the bank ATM. I remember them saying they followed them through hundreds of cameras through Taiwan to catch them.
But ask the cops to review the camera to find your stolen bike or scooter or check who was at fault for the accident and miraculously none of the camera are working.
Interestingly enough, there’s no camera when you need it, it “it doesn’t work”. I happened to me twice, and I’m not sure if I was told the truth in one of the cases…
