😷 COVID - Gold Card COVID test flight?

I just received the Resident Auth form PDF for Gold Card and am planning to fly to Taipei. Do I need to take a COVID test and show that it is negative before getting on a flight? I was told once that the answer is no but just want to double check.

A heads-up to those like me that received the Gold Card and are about to fly over. While COVID testing is not required by Taiwan for our category as of now, keep in mind that the airline that you choose and/or the airport that you are going to transit at might ask for it. I will be flying THY and was told today that I will need a negative COVID swab done max 72 hours earlier to be admitted to Istanbul airport for transit.

What if you don’t have the card, but the Resident Auth PDF? Do you need to take a COVID test then? I assume not but just checking.

If in doubt, ask your teco and also ask the airline. They can give you reliable information wether you need to be tested or not.

The China Airlines rep said US passport needs to be tested. I mentioned Gold Card, but they did not know what that was. It’s possible the rep does not quite know and that if/when I present the Residential Authorization they will know who to call.

Don’t be surprised that few people or institutions in Taiwan actually know what ‘The Goldcard’ is.
