Golden Retriever needs a good home. (AGAIN! Aaaaargh)

Hi
This golden retriever stayed with his owner in the home until his parents refurnished the home and didn’t allow him to take Charly inside anymore. So Charly spent the last year tied outside with a bicycle lock. It is way too hot for him, and the owner isn’t home enough to check on the water…so many times I have to fill it up.

The owner has now agreed that this is not good for Charly, and that he needs a new home that can give him the love and attention(and exercise) that he deserves.

I’m not too sure about his age, maybe between 1-3 yrs old. If we find someone that is interested I will have him checked out by the vet. I don’t want to do that just yet because if we don’t find him a home I just spent money on Charly(that his owner should be doing) and I’ve spent almost 10 000 on dogs that arent mine in the past couple of months.

but if anyone is interested I will pay that to say thanks:)

here are some pics. He is a sweeeetheart.

Charly has found a home! Andre from Cloud9 will be taking him so soon he will be running around Pinglin! Took him to be groomed last nite, and he will be neutered today.

YAYAYAYAYAAAA He spent last nite at my home, he is sooooo sweet. I slept on the couch and he kept on putting his head by my head and falling asleep.

Great news, Battery9! It sounds as though Charly will get a new lease on life.

Great news! What a beautiful dog.

Hi
I’m SOOO happy. I spent some time at Cloud9 in Pinglin…where Charly lives on the weekends. His new owner will soon move there permanently…
Charly LOVES water…we went river tracing and he kept right by Andre’s side…he is SO attached to Andre and follows him everywhere.

It’s so good to see him so free and happy…

Just beautiful…thanks for the updates!

That is one LUCKY dog!

Charlie is doing great!! He`s like a young puppy again and jumps and runs all over the place. when im in Lotung i take him for a swim every night in the river near my home and when im at the camp he spends most of his time in the water, lately he started sitting on the front of my kayak when i paddle.

Thanks for sending him my way!!!
Andre

That is one LUCKY guy!

He sits on the kayak?! I have to see this!!!Coool.

A reminder of what Bettery9 did:

to this:

I got a phonecall last night saying that Andre left the country in haste and left Charlie with a friend. The friend can keep him till March, but he needs a new home.

what the heyyy?

Unbelievable.

What?

That’s bad news. Is he doing the right thing and preparing to ship his dog to where he is, or is he just abandoning him?

I do know that this was unforseen circumstances and he had to leave immediately. I don’t have a way to contact him. I do know he LOVES Charlie and would not have left him if he had the choice.

How can somebody not have any other choice than to leave their animal behind?
Would they leave behind a baby if something else, no matter how bad the something else may seem, came up?
I’m sure if he really loves the dog he will try to contact his friend to see how Charly’s doing, and to make sure that he really will get a new home.

He may be making arrangements.
But if you really had to leave literally overnight for any reason, it would be impossible to arrange transport for an animal from Taiwan. That is just a fact.
I think it’s better not to make sweeping statements about what an awful person this is until the real situation is known.

hi guys
The girl that Charlie was left with had to move last weekend and was going to take Charlie to the pound, but my friends rushed through to Ilan to pick him up.
So he is currently being fostered by my friends who have 3 dogs already, but their home has a nice yard and he is allowed on the furniture:)

He seemed very depressed, but has become his old loving self…finding a way to squeeze himself onto my lap while I was on the couch. For the time being, this is where he will stay. We are INSANELY paranoid right now…we want to take him to Grandma Nittis, but who do you trust with an animal? So many times foreigners need to leave in a hurry, or they don’t include their pets travel expenses, and just hand it down to the next person. And locals often get tired of pets too…or don’t take them out for enough walks, so they get too energetic and trash the place, which is another reason to dump him.

sigh…well, he is fine for now.

I liked Charlie … we had a couple of swims together … If I had known earlier Charlie would have been welcome here, but at the moment I have to take care and educate little Emily … she started to wreck everything she can put her teeth in … that includes me and my legs …
