hi! i so envy my half little brother whose been staying for my mother here in taiwan. i am currently in taiwan and my brother is only 3. my brother can have a conversation with a taxi driver everytime we take a cab and i cant understand even a bit. he doesnt have a taiwan blood he is half filipino and half australian. and i am a pure filipino.
i really want to learn to speak mandarin so in my next visit here in taiwan. i will have somehow know how to make a conversation. there is this youtube called “fluenz” and they have tutoral for mandarin. it is very easy to understand, however, their videos are limited.
can you please recommend more audio or video tutorial for mandarin? (i prefer english teacher since i think they’re much easier to understand since mandarin isnt their first language.)
thank you so much
I really had it rough learning mandarin. I used to go and take some courses but somebody had to pay the bills so I had to stop and I just started liking it. So I took this program and to be honest it’s probably not the best but it definitely made me better. I reviewed it. Here’s the link bit.ly/1IT6uIV Ooh yeah it really helps if you want to learn mandarin or any language actually to get to know the culture behind the language.
OP the audio courses are ok online but I find apps help a lot more. As they are more interactive.
I have been studying Chinese for about 1 year so far and have been struggling a lot with my pronunciation. Recently I found this amazing FREE app I’m hooked on. (I’m a student so I only really use free resources). It’s called “Social Language”
social-language.com/#home
It has a messaging function like Wechat or dozen other apps but I love this one because it has “speaking lessons” built in where I record myself reading various phrases in Chinese and native speakers listen and give me feed back. FINALLY an app I can use to fix my sloppy Chinese pronunciation.
Check it out. There are WAY more Chinese than English speakers on it currently so I feel super popular as over hundreds people have sent me chat requests in my 1st month. And you can practice ALL types of situations just like your brother. (Including taking a taxi)
If you are a total beginner, The audios by goethe verlag are quite good: goethe-verlag.com/book2/EN/
You can choose to download the audios from your native language to Chinese. It contains 100 mp3 files, covering most basic phrases and vocabs of vairous topics. I used to practice with this.
