Good bands? spring scream

Hey all,

I’m new to the taiwanese live band scene, I’m off to check out spring scream this weekend an was wondering what the ‘must sees’ are in terms of good music, any genera really.

Thanx a plenty, an maybe i’ll check u guys there? I know its apparently not the same as it used to be but hey we only young once!!

cheers,
cands

I’d have to recommend

Thx for giving me the chance to shamelessly promote…

Check www.myspace.com/vibamusic for sights and sound - if it’s your thing.

Otherwise, I think there is a lot of good quality. The Anglers, Riddim OUtlaws, Public Radio, Octopus Project are well worth checking out.

I don’t know if Miracle Saru is playing this year, but if they are it is a show not to be missed.

Selling Us Everything will be there.

Hey guys, thanx for the update, will definately check those bands out!

Just a lil worried bout the current weather situation  Does any1 know if its raining hectically down there? Coz I’m camping an a lil worried. Or is rain the norm at spring scream??

Just asking coz in South africa, this weekend every year we have a similar event called Splashy fen. It usually rains at night but during the day its hot, which is great for relaxin and watchin bands and whatever else blows yopur hair back

Check out “The Idiots”. I saw them down here in Jiayi last weekend.

Great energy and their guitarist kicks ass.

Two other bands that may or may not be there, but are worth checking out are Sky Burial (awesome People Who Died cover) and newcomers Johnny Fat Stacks.

No need to worry about the weather.
I’ll be there ,too.Have fun!

its a rock festival man…rain, mud, searing heat, dodgy toilets, even dodgier pills…

all included in the price of admission…(well ok the pills aint)

Charlie Taylor and the Axis of Evil! Go see his show next Monday at Bliss! He sold the second most CDs of any band at Spring Scream ever.

Hey guys!

Spring scream was excellent, so good to get away from my craphole town an hear some good music! Are there anymore of these music fests in Taiwan?

An in Taichung, whats the best place to check out music?

Thanx

Hey Cands,

Were you the South African girl that I was talking to on the Sat. night by the Whale Bar? My obnoxious Kiwi drummer was being rude and I was trying to make him behave. Just curious.

I think there is another small festival coming up in Tainan on the weekend of May 5th and 6th.

hmmm. duno, could be, was i pretty boozed with a hat?

did speak to some kiwis tho, they were consider the meek, sound familiar?

damn, kno bout that fest but have to go up to taipei, how bout that peace fest?

cands

yes, you were… wearing a hat. Everyone was pretty boozed by that point. I was the guy in The Unrelentless, that band that played in the rain.

Peace Fest can be a lot of fun… but don’t know too much about that this year, except it’s usually in Longtan which is a little ways away from Taipei.

Yeah, you guys were pretty good! I remember u as the tie guys

We actually comin up to taipei in 3 weekends time, would be good to see some live music can u suggest a place in particular?
