My latest DVD movie project requires some nice listening Chinese songs backing up my video footage. But my problem is I don’t know of any easy listening songs. I mean I’ve heard some on the radio, but have no idea of their names. My video will range quite a bit, so any reccommendations could be possibly worked into my film.
So, what do you think are some better songs? And what’s their pinyin titles. Thanks.

I’d say absolutely any Mandarin song by Jacky Cheung (Zhang Xueyou).
Yang Nai Wen has done some good stuff. Easy on the ear but not silly and tacky, like most of the crap Taiwan churns out in the way of music.
Chi Chin’s “Yuan Lai de Wo”
Jiang Yu Heng’s “Dzue Hou de Wen Rou”
Lin Long Shuen’s “Wo Ai Ni Je Yang Shen”
Chen Chien-nien’s (Pur-dur) stuff on Taiwan Colors Music is worth a listen or 20. Organic, folksy music that manages to come across as laid back, like having a beer on a sunny day on a Taidong beach.
DJ Orange has some good songs with Mandarin lyrics that work well as background music.
