You know one thing that REALLY gets me in Taiwan is lack of good lighting. I mean, they use flourescent tubes everywhere that is starting to make the place look like a hospital for God’s sake. Where can I find some good softer light that is bright? I mean the yellow light produced by a regular light bulb but would be great if they can produce good light output without using tons of juice… Even better if they screw into a regular light bulb socket (assuming I can find a lamp that takes it or one of those shaded lamp you see in an average American homes)
Try B&Q, they have a big lamp section.

There is one in Shilin, not too far from the MRT station. Just follow Zhong Zheng Rd. to the West, it’s about 2 or 3 bus-stops.
I think the stop is named after the government district office (sorry, dunno the Chinese) though you could just walk, can’t miss it.
