Google Navigation Available for Taiwan Now

I don’t see an update for Maps on the Play Store yet, but:

just tried it out, my co-worker had an upgrade available, and he was able to use navigation after the upgrade. My phone didn’t have an upgrade, but when I tried it, navigation works fine. It’s great! now if I can just make it speak Taiwanese holo like on my 導航王 (Naviking)…

Works on the iPhone now too!

Too bad it didn’t come out a day earlier, or I would have saved myself $30 USD buying the Garmin app. Oh well.

Well, might be worth it for the offline map capability. Taiwan 3g-data is glacial at times.

ok, downloaded it on my ios device

It shows me the route, but how to enable the voice-guided navigation ?

There should be a car icon on the bottom right? That should then show you different route options with times. If you click on one of the options, then on the bottom right you should see a Start button to start the navigation.

Is it actually getting worse, or am I just imagining things? (OT - sorry.)

I wouldn’t mind so much if my iPhone 5 actually had decent Wifi and could pick up the signal in our bedroom. My old iPhone, my wife’s iPhone 4, my iPad - all have good Wifi there. The 5? Nada.
