Got kids? Take 'em to Taichung!

Take the 台中港路 exit off the #1 Freeway… Go straight down Taichung Harbor Rd towards downtown for about 3km until you see SOGO on your right hand side, at the SOGO intersection take the left onto 建行路… The museum is 2 blocks up JianXing Rd on the right hand side… There are brown tourism signs for the museum / parking lot…

Thank you Plasma. You have kids too?

Nope, I’m just a sucker for life size robotic dinosaurs…

My wife and I have just come back from a trip to Taiwan during which we went to Taichung and among other things saw the art museum, the science museum and the botanical garden! All three were quite amazing and my wife is now smitten with Taichung. I also thought the TungHai campus had some interesting architecture… but perhaps is less interesting for small kids…

I agree with the TungHai campus, a must visit if you live in Taichung. There is a dairy farm on campus, the university was founded by Americans and you can see some small American style houses still on campus and a cool pyramid shaped church in the middle of a grassy lawn, nice spot.

For you architectural buffs, the landmark church at Tunghai University was designed by I.M. Pei. The campus is a great place to take young kids to run around.
