Growl - new registration procedure

Inspired by the thread for Gustav I wanted to create an account for Brian to say Happy Birthday.

Sadly, I got the following message after creating the account.
However, because of spam attacks on our forum, we need to screen all new registrations before you are able to login and post

Here is how the screening process works
simply write us at admin @ forumosa.com and tell us

 1. how you heard about Forumosa.com or Taiwanted.com
 2. what you expect from our websites
 3. and what your chosen Forumosa ID is

Once we are satisfied that your objectives are sincere, we will activate your ID asap

Give us 1 day from the time you email us to activate your registration
I suppose it’s necessary, but it spoils the fun. :frowning:

Woof.

Smurfing is bad!

Loretta’s dog can’t read or write anyway.

Grrrr!!!

Sadly, because of some loser (losers?) constsantly spamming Forumosa with links to trojan-containing porn sites, this policy has had to be implemented for the time being.

I’m going to set up a smerf for my dead fish. THEN you’ll all be sorry. Bwwhahahah!

Well I were a cynical type, I might say this looks like market research to me, see how the word of forumosa is being spread, and the expectations of the punters visiting

Now on a slightly different note, if this will be answered. Who owns Forumosa? When it is sold ( when someone flashes a suitcase of cash) will major contributors to the website (Moderators etc) be compensated, or do they already own a stake in it?

How about people who have contributed via the forums to the website… will they get a fee for every word or letter they typed? I’m up to almost 800 posts (how much is this worth?)

You haven’t received anything yet? I have a bungalow in the Turks and Caicos. Thanks, maoman.
I guess how much money you would get from a sale would depend on how much money you invested in the site.

Only TomHill’s posts are worth anything.

It was always just a mad experiment, I think. Very few other places have a forum like this. It is, frankly, a miracle. It could have been run entirely for profit years ago but survived, I think, because it’s not. There may of course be offspring, but the board itself has been a tremendous success. I think anyway. So I don’t begrudge the men who own it doing a little market research. Anyway, back to pretending to be drunk! Where’s that thread about baby eating!?

Still waiting for the cheque in the post.

Nor do I begrudge them. I may be Irish but I think I have purged myself of the begrudgery mindset

The question just entered my head about ownership etc when I going through WIKI (started on a total different subject) and ended up on the page about FORUMOSA.

There’s a page about Forumosa?

Is begrudgery really an Irish thing!?

I remember my uncle in Dublin saying “FTB!” to me once when I told him years ago as an adolescent of a small (but important) success of mine. So I says to him “What’s that mean?” and he says “Fuck The Begrudgers!” and it has stuck with me ever since! I want it on my tombstone!

FTB!
