Well, there’s Okinawa, which is much closer, much prettier, and much more interesting… though both have a large number of ‘ugly Americans’ to put up with (and many not-so-ugly ones too).

and Chewy, that’s a pretty stupid comment about the Chinese benefiting Taiwan development by injecting new DNA. It was all the bloody money they stole from China rather than hand it over to the Maoists that prompted all the economic development of Taiwan. Not that it really benefited the Taiwanese for a long long time, and not the the Taiwanese didn’t pay a huge price in terms of blood, imprisonment, and lost freedom along the way.
