Have recently entered into a mortgage agreement with a Taiwanese friend as a guarantor. Would it be possible for this friend to later remove themselves as my guarantor and leave me with a higher interest rate?
It depends on your contract.
In general case, I’d guess no. Your should be able to replace your guarantor, but you would need one.
