With the New Velvet Revolver album coming out soon I have a question which is better?
Guns n Roses (Axl Rose)
Velvet Revolver (Slash, Duff, Matt Sorum and maybe Izzy Stradlin, but no touring for him)
The Gunners were a good band but they broke up, quit or got fired. What do you think? However I think Chinese Democracy will be a good listen when released.
I haven’t heard the new album, and I’m not sure I will, Guns and Roses started as a brilliant band. They were so original and excitiing that they cut across society. By the time they cut Use Your Illusion, they were dead. The Spaghetti Incident is an album of cover tunes that only a groupie would buy.
This wouldn’t be the first time that a great band got screwed up by drugs and girls.
Don’t get me wrong, I really like Use Your Illusion. I like their covers more than the originals. I like everything they’ve put out. I’m just disappointed. They were a GREAT band. At one time, I thought they could have been the next Stones or Arrowsmith, putting out amazing sounds into their 50’s. They just haven’t lived up to my hopes. But then, who gives a F$$$ about my hopes?
It really is Guns ‘n’ Roses vs Velvet revolver in the courts.
LOS ANGELES - Two former members of the rock band Guns N’ Roses have sued frontman Axl Rose for allegedly naming himself sole administrator of the group’s copyrights.
The suit was filed Aug. 17 in federal court by Slash and Duff, otherwise known as Saul Hudson and Michael McKagan. It accuses Rose of profiting from their revenue shares to the tune of about $500,000 a year.
I love how they give two real names but still refer to Axl Rose by his stage name.
