Anyone tried this joint out yet?

This sounds interesting. I would check it out tonight but they are closed on Mondays.
No 258-1 Ruian St. do you know where that is?

It runs off the west side of Fuxing, between Xinyi and Heping.

I know Ruei-an St… but not that particular address. Ruei-an intersects Fuxing S. Rd. at the Yung Ho Dou Jiang store where all the all-nite restaurants are located on Fuxing between Hsinyi and Heping.

It do sound interesting…

thanks. I’ll check it out for sure.

Ruian is a small side street that runs diagonally from Fuxing S. (south of DaAn MRT) to Heping E Rd east of the JianGuo intersection. This is a residential area. I wonder how well they’ll do there.

I think Ruian continues east of Fuxing also.

I just stopped by to see if they were open for lunch. Not today. The store is located closer to Heping than Fuxing and is in a small market area.

Fuxing and Heping intersect. Do you mean closer to Jianguo? That would put it close to the library, right?

I meant that it’s closer to the intersection of Rui An and Heping, than to the intersection of Rui An and Fu Xing. Yes it’s very close to the He Ping-Jianguo corner, and the library isn’t far either. If you walk down the lane/alley from the library for a block or two, you’ll be very close. The sign is large, orange, and in English. There’s a fruit vendor on the corner beside the dog store.

Sorry to keep on about this, but I don’t want others to be confused. Ruian does not intersect Heping.

I do think, however, that with your directions from the library, I could easily find this hotdog joint. I may go there tomorrow for lunch.

My map says Rui An and He Ping do connect. My map may be wrong.

Or, I could be wrong.

Ruian makes some weird moves. AFAIK, one end of Ruian St. begins at Jianguo where the government-built housing project is located across from Daan park. It hits Fuxing where the Yonghe Doujiang store is located between Xinyi and Heping. I think Ruian continues east of Fuxing over near the Daan MRT station… at least, there is a road sign just south of Xinyi that indicates as much.

Who knows?

Well, I’ll be darned. Ruian does, according to the above map, hit Heping E Rd. Hmmm?

Oh well, the red dot on the map above is where Taipei City Government says that the hotdog store is located.

But, this map must be wrong, as you said the hotdog place is closer to the Heping-Ruian intersection…

Yeah, I disagree with the location of the government dot. I’d place it a lot closer to the “E” of “Heping E Rd. Sec.,2”. As you mentioned before, that street does a lot of meandering.

Well, that’s really close to where I live. I guess this is a job for Dofu and me. We’ll check it out this evening.

Ooh, I need to check this one out, too. I have had inexplicable hot dog cravings lately.

Doncha jes love bein’ 'umosan. This could end up being a flash mob thing.

Tigger, didn’t you yourself say it was closed on Mondays? or was it that great vulcan wit that did. Anyhoo, please don’t make Dofu lose respect for you. Go tomorrow.

Recon tonight. Attack tomorrow.

sligger5 is absolutely right. The place is near the Ruian Street intersection with Heping E Rd. Going east on Heping E Rd., just pass the Chinese Culture University branch at the corner of Heping and Jianguo and go to the the Ruian Street beginning. Turn left into Ruian and walk up past the park. The hot dog place is on the left, just as sligger5 described it.
