Hey Hanoi looks just what Taipei used to be like
How do you know? Have you been there? Telling from a video is not that accurate …
Except they have way better food, and the houses have a French style (at least in the main tourist areas).
wow, i posted this thing and i got 2 responses in like 20 seconds !!! man thats fast.
no, i was given this link by someone who saw it and thought , wow just like taipei used to be like
nah aint been there, wanna visit tho
Makes it not the same as Taipei … the French have never been here … well, now they are but that doesn’t count …
I meant the TRAFFIC
but werent the french at one time fighting the dutch on taiwan?? i thought they had colonized some of taiwan then?
No, the Spanish or Portuguese have been here, Japanese, Belgians … Canadian pot growers …
i think the french have been too, sowing some seeds into the taiwan girls then.
way back when
this article says the French had north Taiwan for nine months way back when?
Yeah, the French have been here too:

The video is accurate, been there during CNY/Tet and traffic is like that. Supposingly there was less traffic because of the Tet but I thought it was real bad.
Crossing the road there as a pedestrian is even more “fun” than here. Didn’t see them riding on the sidewalk though - is that something new to Taipei?
Why didn’t they teach the locals how to make coffee and bake baguettes as they did in Indochina?
Hanoi… great food… cheap as chips… beautiful city…
Google Amédée Courbet, that other great French naval hero.
why didnt he get his own cognac level like Napoleon did? You know the VS, VSOP, NAPOLEON , XO, EXTRA. Where does Amedee fit in?
I was in Taiwan when there was no internet, no cell phones, no MRT, no stock market and hardly any Canadians.
And most of the Americans where either runaway criminals or Vietnam vets.
It was more wild in the old days, almost anarchy, however just not to get too nostalgic the girls are better looking now than they used to be as some of them are not flat chested anymore. Thanks to Mc Donalds and KFC.
A Taiwanese said to me the other day “you know Taiwan well for a foreigner” I replied that I was here before they were born. I’m not even 40 and was 18 on my first visit to Taiwan.
