Hanyu Pinyin Typing Shorthand

Android (maybe others?) can do pinyin shorthand by typing the first letter of each word.

For example

  1. Use Chinese pinyin keyboard
  2. Type nhm (representing Ni hao ma)
  3. 你好嗎

You have to use the artboard and draw every stroke out, or you aren’t a real man.

Heh.

Google Chinese PinYin also can.
You can download the app in case your smartphone doesn’t have it.

Can also install the Google pinyin keyboard on iPad.

你好嗎?
南征北討。

I tried to type 你這變態! Didnt work.

It uses the same AI for suggestions as in any other languages. It can be trained and adapted according to your use.

For example:
I will be there at the same time I don’t have a car so I can get a ride to the airport

The sentence above was created using only the suggestions provided by the input AI. Did it make sense? No. Is it completely nonsense? Not really, I surely could use a ride to the airport :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Even regular English predictive text is frequently wrong.

not limited to Pinyin.

True, but Zhuyin is an abomination and scourge upon the Earth.

It is pretty terrible, that’s why I use Boshiamy when it comes to typing Hanji.

You can also type out the initials in Tai-gi to get Han-ji also, using the Phah Tâi-gí app

Even better, use voice input and your whole Chinese sentence will be written for you. Google voice seems to even understand the worst Chinese accents and mispronunciations.
