I’d say a little of both…definitely a love/hate thing going on here.
Love the food, natural scenery, women…
Hate the pollution, cultural misunderstandings, traffic lawlessness…

Have to agree wih the love hate idea. There are good days and bad days. But that seems to be the case back home, or anywhere for that matter. I love that I can go for a walk at midnight in Taipei, and peopl are out, walking around, doing things. A smile sure goes a long way here. Back in Canada, nifgtlife is just sort of agressive. Young drunk dudes looking for some action, obnoxious. I guess it’s here too, sometimes. Sure feels safer here though. My standard of living has tripled. Too bad about the pollution.

It’s not much different from any other place. Some people love it, some hate it. Personally, I like it. I have hated it at times and have loved it at times. Right now I can say that I like it. The pollution isn’t bad–or maybe I’m just used to it. The language(s)–I’m interested in them. Nature–haven’t seen much of it in the past two years, but the stuff I saw previously was great. The people–haven’t seen much of them in the past two years, either, but I seem to recall that I liked them for the most part.
I HATE how there’s so many things in the shops and you just want to buy EVERYTHING >< why can’t they be just like China - this or nothing.
