Have anyone ever called hot line service?

Someone told me the number 0800024111 and he says this line is for foreigners in TW.
Have anyone ever called line??

I just called it. I’m a foreigner. It was crap. The guy wouldn’t even talk dirty. What a con.

What kind event do you asked???

Phone sex in English, of course. What else?

Why do you ask?

Every once in a while, a government agency or company will offer up a “press __ for English” option or “English hotline” and I take advantage of it. Frequently the person answering the “English” line will immediately say: “Can you speak Chinese?” and we go from there.

I have called this number a few times, and with great results. Well, usually. Don’t expect them to give you any really advanced information (visa questions, etc.). But for finding things and getting basic information they are terriffic. I’m not even sure who funds this office - anyone know?

Haha I thought I was the only one… this happens so much to me. Good for practice I guess.

Actually,a subordinate agency under Executive Yuan fund this hotline, which is operated by Chunghwa Telecome (Someday may be Taiwan Telecome :P)

This hotline has been set up for a while, as part of “Creating English-friendly Environment” project. However, we usually find that the government does one thing which people do not really know. That is why actually we need some more people to share information in between, if that is really useful.

Hahaha that is so true, well, they either in lack of confidence in speaking foreign language or, simply wanna take it in a easier way.

Good practice as you indicate…:stuck_out_tongue:
