Remember that Canadian fellow who paddled the whole way around Taiwan a few years ago? We followed his adventure on a thread here. If I recall correctly, he got at least some recognition from officialdom and the media for it (though I’m sure many officials were anxious lest locals should be inspired to follow his example).
Edit: He did it in May 2004.
Wow, that was a great read/grave dig. Did an English version of the book/pdf ever happen? Where’s Mark now?
:bravo:
I enjoyed rereading it, too. Well worthy of disinterment, I’d say.
And like you, I wondered what’s happened to Mark since then. I did a bit of Googling, but couldn’t find any news. There were several forum members who said they knew Mark back then, but few of them are still posting here now. One of the few is MJB, who was Mark’s neighbour in 2004, so perhaps he’ll chime in with an update.
Unfortunately, it appears that Mark never got round to publishing an English version of his book. Dan Bloom wrote about it in a thread on that awful Tealit place, but the book doesn’t seem to have ever appeared.
