Health Check cost - onus on which party?

I have a friend who is about to renew their contract with a Buxiban and the time is coming for them to get their health check. Apparently the gov hospital is just focused on Covid, so getting the healthcheck done at a private hospital is the only option.

The school is trying to charge my friend 2050 NT, which seems a bit off. A side note: the school already strong-armed him into paying for a private Covid test (in case parents worried?) when he got out of quarantine. It was at least 5000 nt.

Does this check out or should my friend push back here? Seems dodgy

Are you sure the school is charging him $2050 and not the clinic? The cost at the public hospital is over $1000, so that’s probably what the clinic normally charges.
I’ve paid for every health check I’ve ever had.

I remember my health check over 20 years ago was about 1500nt, doesn’t sound far off

Are they having in-person classes? We’re still at L3 for almost 2 weeks so I don’t know what the point of that is.

Your friend could look for a cheaper hospital from the list.
