Hello from a new member

I would like to say hello to everybody that visits this site; both members and non-members. I have been reading posts on this site for a couple months and finally decided to join.
I lived in Taipei from April 99 to Mar 00 and in Keelung for most of March. During my stay I met a girl and fell in love. (Bla,bla, bla.,bla, bla, bla) We got married in the USA and traveld around working and going to school. Recently we decided to move back to Taiwan. (who knows for how long) We will be arriving Aug. 3rd,2004, along with our Labradoer Xiao Pang. My wife and I both love love hiking and taking our dog all over the place. We both work very hard and I spend as much time as possible on my bicycle. My wife and I both hope to become an active member in this (on-line or off-line) community and are more than willing to hear from members that share the same intersts. (bicycling, hiking, Bicycling, Dogs, or BICYCING)
Again, Hello to all. Anyone that would like to contact us feel free to do so.

Welcome! What’s a Labradoer? Is that a dog that only rides the baloney pony with other labs ?
Hope to see you at the August happy hour, or at Alleycat’s, or on the trails.

Moderator note: word ‘fuck’ edited out, there’s no need for the word ‘fuck’ in here, BFM may be watching

Sandman, perhaps I should be a little more careful with my spelling! My dog will not be doing much; anyway, as much as he would love to, since he was neuterd as young as possible.

Welcome to Forumosa U235 (isn’t that a submarine ?) :notworthy:
There are a few cyclists, hikers and dog owners on here, and there are a few threads on those subjects somewhere.
Don’t mind Sandman, he’s just mean.

Sandman: Don’t be rude about others’ typing, it’s mean :no-no:

This guy just might go critical.

I’m not mean. But labradoer? I just couldn’t resist. Sorry U235.

No problem about Sandmans comment. I would have done the same.
U235 may have been a sub,but I have no idea about sub’s names. I do know there was a movie about a Russian sub with some very unfortunate and true problems though.
Anyway U235 Is the scientific notation for the isotope of Uranium that has been enriched enough to be used in a commercial nuclear reactor.

Welcome to Forumosa.

Don’t mind Sandman. He’s just jealous. As you will soon find out, there are plenty of those that post here. and much worse (the trolls), etc.

actually sandman is fine, except he’s a scot.

Hey welcome. My wife and I have a Labrador, Gustav. We go out with him often. See “[url=http://tw.forumosa.com/t/dog-days/8983/1 Days[/url]”. Looking forward to meeting you!

Labs are good learners, but remember that it will be in an unfamiliar place and off the leash is a bad idea until and unless you feel extraordinarily comfortable with the dog roaming free – the traffic can be a killer – we lost one dog this way six years ago.
Please don’t tell me you are coming here to teach English… :help:

U235, you’re welcome at Alleycat’s anytime. The wife and I work very hard too. We have a dog. Some say a toy. But it’s both; it’s a toy poodle.

Apparently he is coming to work on “another” little project.

I even found a picture online

Dofu says “welcome!”

I’d say it is one of those dogs bred to be kicked across the living room on rainy days. Bought any new summer outfits for it yet, Alleycat?

Taverncaptain?

Welcome to the boards. Be wary…as some may want to give you a nice initiation kick in the digital ass (like Sandman already has… )

Once again, welcome and I hope you enjoy being a part of our little piece of cyber insanity. :lovestruck: :notworthy:

Welcome U235… I would have said “hi” earlier, but I was busy re-experiencing the US.

Welcome, young feller and fellerette!

You got to work pretty quickly in acquiring a wifey during your last short stay here, didn’t you! Which makes me wonder what the shortest time is between any of our posters arriving in Taiwan and marrying a local who they’d never met before they came here? Perhaps that should be the subject of a separate thread.

Anyway, I’m sure you’ll have a whale of a time hiking and cycling along the riverside bike paths and in the hills around Taipei, especially up past Wulai. Will Little Fatty be shedding the pounds by running along behind you when you go off for a spin on the bikes?

Hi, U232. I do share your interests.

I also take this opportunity to remind folks that I have seven labrador cross puppies that will soon be looking for new homes once they are weaned.

Juba, I could only imagine what your furniture would look like if you still had all those dogs when they begin teething! Our’s was terrible!

Xiao Pang has been on a diet also just to help make his travel a little easier. We are looking forward to the beaches and hiking! He absolutly loves water.

As for marriage, we were together for a year and a half before we married. I have worked with some guys that went to other countries in Europe and Asia for about a month and returned to the states married though. I hope it lasts for them, marriage can be a wonderful thing.
