I don’t know all the details. Could the staff see he was deadlifting in the incorrect place? If not, is your Chinese good enough that you could explain this to them?
At the moment you’re kind of drip-feeding us facts, not on purpose I’m sure. For example,
I wanted to use the squat rack in the back. He was deadlifting right next to it
has changed to
If he wants to deadlift in front of a squat rack he can, but don’t complain when someone then wants to use it
It makes it hard to figure out exactly what the problem was. However, I think I understand correctly now that he was deadlifting directly in front of the squat equipment in your photo. Which is very strange.
Ok, you see the squat rack at the back of the room?
He had his deadlift bar right across it so it was very awkward to get into that squat rack to use it.
Yes, my Chinese is good enough to explain that to the staff. They could very clearly see his bar was blocking access to the squat rack and there was plenty of room to move it elsewhere.
Wow! That is bizarre. Must have taken some balancing. I assume he either didn’t know what he was doing or he’s one of those territorial weight lifters.
Anyway, I’m afraid I can’t help you find a decent gym in Taipei.
It was the latter, because I pushed his bar back with my foot while he was complaining about me getting too close to his bar to show how easy it was to move it and that made him even angrier.
It’s not, really. Almost the default place in a lot of gyms - it’s basically the default “heavy weights” area when there’s no platform or the platform is occupied.
Poundsand really wants it to be my fault, while ignoring the fact that the squat rack was not in use, and he could easily have moved his bar back 30cm.
