  1. What rights does a foreign spouse have if a Taiwanese husband locks her out of the house?

  2. If a husband has been psychologically abusive, threatening but actually there is no physical evidence except psychosomatic in the abused spouse, how can abuse and insult be proven in court?

  3. Can the local spouse legally block access to common assets, such as bank accounts?

  4. Are there any social services available, such as there are shelters in the West for battered women?

I believe Taiwan banks do not have joint accoints at all. Banking is in one name or the other. A spouse does not have access to their spouse’s account purely because they are married. So im not sure what joint assests you are referring to.

Can the spouse make an appointment and a visit to legal aid?

If the spouse is a woman in Taipei, they might do something.

“如遭受配偶精神虐待，建議可至醫院請精神科醫生開立診斷證明，診斷證明法律並沒有限定需要幾個月內，但多半被配偶虐待的情形應該持續一段時間，可以請負責治療的醫生開立診斷證明書，此診斷證明書是用以證明從何時開始就醫、病名如何？後續如何治療？另外還可蒐集的證據包括錄音、錄影或有其他人曾親眼見聞，可以出庭證明確實受到配偶精神虐待。”

If she gave all the money she earned to her husband, and she had access to a bank card to where such money, along with teh little he put in, are stored, can he legally shut her out? Let me find out under who’s name it is. I mean, even if it is under his name, then she has no right to it even if she contributed to teh earnings? She can prove so.

Children have been instructed not to talk to their mother, they are not allowed to socialize with her, go out with her. She has been barred from all family activities.

We have been told teh children’s testimony does not count when choosing who is going to have custody.

Moreocver, as an example of children manipulation, remember a couple of weeks ago teh guy who gunned down his wife and her Vietnamese boss? Well, allegedly teh child made a FB post -or at leas a FB post was made unde rteh child’s name- saying hsi father was right to hit his mother, he was a good man and practically justuified teh thing.

Spouse has been kept isolated so does not speak or read Chinese. She is totally dependent on hubby.
