Help with a few uptodate resources for teaching low-level kids with special needs

I’m teaching a small class of 5th and 6th graders, all of whom are well below the expected level for their grades in public school. None of them remember their third grade material, let alone their current stuff. Two kids have ADHD and one has OCD. The others are from families that definitely could not afford any extra tuition. They are really nice kids, and all very eager, but I have to admit I’m having trouble finding a strategy to keep the class together to make progress in any way. I tried using the chants from Let’s Chant, Let’s Sing but they just don’t get it. I was thinking of using “Side by Side” as a guide to what I should teach, but maybe there is something better out there now.

I think my plan should be to use more multimedia and concrete items, and I am hoping some of you might have suggestions for online materials I can use. I’ve been digging around but there’s so much stuff it’s taking forever to pick out the things that might be most useful. I can use the computer and a big screen in class, and access the internet. I can bring in whatever I like. I just read some suggestions of Housecat’s to do practical things like cooking and I think I will try this, too.

Any ideas are most welcome. I like these kids a lot and do not want to give up on them. Thanks in advance.
