Help with blogger: comments not showing

I have a blog listing events and places for children in Taiwan: http://kidzone-tw.blogspot.com/. For some reason, the box for posting comments has disappeared and I can’t figure out what happened. I went to the blogger help site but I can’t find an answer to help me. Anyone have ideas?

It’s showing up for me ok.

you need to set your blog to “show comments” sign in>customise>settings>show comments>on

Hmm, I checked my settings and they are all fine. cfimages, if you don’t mind, can you confirm that under this part:

Post a Comment
Please remember this is a family-oriented site. Any comments deemed not suitable will be deleted.

you see a space to type in, with a box outline? I don’t know why I can’t see this anymore on my computer. It means I can’t reply to comments others leave on my blog at the moment.

Thanks, again.

Yeah, it’s there. Here’s a screenshot.

thanks, it’s not on mine, guess I need to find someone technically-minded to help me fix it…

Try refreshing your browser. You might be looking at the old page.

Mucha Man,
Thanks for the idea, but it didn’t work. I feel so technologically-challenged! :frowning:

Hi, asiababy.

It works fine for me in both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Is it possible you are not logged in, or you’ve banned yourself from making comments or something?

Or you may have disabled javascript in your browser.

Thanks for the link, btw.

Any luck?

irishstu,

No, not so far. I am wondering about java, I did upload it a couple of weeks ago but as my computer has Chinese windows I am sometimes a bit lost in here, and not sure where to look to check whether it has been disabled or whatever it does. Got me beat.

I hope you find the site useful, I have a lot more work to put into it. I thought blogger would be the easiest thing for me to use to get it started, and at least get some information out there.

Hey asiababy. Just so you know, Java and Javascript are two totally different things. What I was referring to is a simple setting in your browser. Which browser are you using anyway? Internet Explorer? Firefox? Something else? And on that subject, could you try a different one, just to see if that’s the problem?

irishstu,
Time for a few computer-lingo update sessions for myself
Anyway, tried firefox and explorer (usually use explorer) on my computer, had the same problem. On motherinlaw’s it’s fine.

I’m a bit stumped. Obviously the problem is with your computer, but usually it would be because of the settings in one particular browser. I wonder if your firewall is messing with it.

Anyway, could you check your settings in Firefox for me?

Go to Tools > Options, then click the Content tab at the top of the window that pops up.

There’s an option to enable Javascript. Make sure it’s ticked.

I’m not convinced that’s your problem though.

irishstu,
Thank you for all your help. It wasn’t the javascript, but I don’t know what it is. After looking at everything, my husband says I need to reinstall windows XP to sort out some issues. I’ll see what happens after that.
