Looking for a high end restaurant in Taipei/New Taipei that has a private room or an area that is somewhat private. Basically don’t want people to be able to hear or see what is being said or done at my table.

How about Shin Yeh? There is also a seafood restaurant in Taipei 101, which is on the 86th floor, I believe. But it is pricey for private room space.

Most nicer Chinese restaurants have private rooms (包廂), like literally hundreds. You should up your criteria for recommendations e.g. food type, location, price point.

Just called Shin Yeh but they only have big rooms for loads of people
Just called a few more, they all said they only have rooms for ten people. Really want a smaller table for two people

You’ll get a room for 2 but there’ll likely be a minimum charge. A lot of Japanese restaurants will have semi private booths, may suffice depending on what you want to discuss and do.
The Ukai Taipei teppenyaki has private rooms over looking Taipei from xinyi.
There is a restaurant in Shangri-la hotel that has private rooms for a couple people but mostly glass. I think Japanese but forget.
